Job Description
Provide friendly, efficient customer service on the shop floor, support sales activities, and help maintain store standards. This is an entry-level, full-time onsite role.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet customers, assess needs, and offer product information and recommendations
- Process sales transactions accurately using the POS system; handle cash and card payments
- Maintain product displays, restock shelves, and ensure inventory is organized and labeled
- Assist with receiving, unpacking, and checking deliveries; report discrepancies
- Support promotional setup and merchandising to meet visual standards and sales targets
- Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and returns professionally and escalate when necessary
- Monitor stock levels and communicate reorder needs to the supervisor
- Keep the sales floor, fitting rooms, and backroom clean, safe, and compliant with store policies
- Collaborate with team members to achieve daily sales goals and provide coverage as scheduled
- Participate in basic training sessions and team meetings; adapt to changing priorities
Skills and Qualifications
- Entry-level experience in retail, customer service, or a related environment preferred but not required
- Professional working proficiency in English; elementary knowledge of Maltese
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a customer-focused attitude
- Basic numeracy and attention to detail for handling transactions and stock tasks
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible shifts including weekends and public holidays
- Ability to stand for extended periods, perform light lifting, and work on the shop floor
- Comfortable using point-of-sale systems and basic inventory tools; quick to learn new software
- Team player with a positive attitude, initiative, and the ability to work independently when required
Requirements:
- Knowledge and experience in the Food or Retail Industry business.
- Previous experience in retail outlets is an asset.
- A high sense of commitment and work ethic.
- Self-motivated, well-organised, good communication and inter-personal skills.
- Able to work on own initiative and making decisions that reflect the company’s values.
- Excellent time-management and business acumen.
Desirable
- Previous retail or merchandising experience
- Familiarity with health and safety and loss-prevention practices
