About the Role

The selected candidate will report directly to the Retail Operations Manager overseeing and ensuring a smooth operational flow at our Interspar supermarket. The role primarily entails ensuring the delivery of exceptional customer service to clients in a fast-paced environment, by developing the team to follow routines and processes according to the stipulated work practices and company policies.

The job also requires to effectively delegate workload and motivate the team to achieve the agreed supermarket key performance indicators in a timely and systematic fashion. A hands-on management approach is also essential during heavy workload periods and so as to lead the team by example.

The Supermarket Manager will also be required to regularly optimize the store processes through regular process analyses and relevant implementations to keep abreast with the current contemporary retail trends.

About You

You must possess experience in leading and developing a team in a fast-paced, and target-driven environment – as well as proven excellent time-management, delegation and problem-solving skills together with a high sense of customer-centric culture approach, prioritising the customer experience at all times. Excellent communication skills are also a prerequisite for this position so as to provide team members with regular and effective feedback to help develop themselves and the store.
